Programme details:
This course will empower clinicians by helping reduce their fear and anxiety through clarifying some of the misconceptions surrounding coroner’s inquests that our clinical colleagues and trainee GPST2/GPST3’s may have.
This course will achieve the above objectives and would include:
1. The role of the coroner.
2. The salient legislation that underpins the role of the coroner and the inquest process itself briefly.
3. Generic guidance on preparing a witness statement for the coroner.
4. Describing the day of the inquest and how to conduct oneself in court.
5. Provide suggestions as to how to provide evidence to the coroner.
6. Legal and regulatory ramifications for clinicians.
Tea/coffee and light bites will be available on the day.
